Healing through the power of nature and orthodox medicine

Integrative GPs

Integrative doctors, like our Integrative GP’s in Newcastle, are trained medical practitioners who have selected to further study how to integrate all the body systems and be definitive in discovering the reasons for symptoms. Concentrating on nutrition, past health and enhancing essentials such as nutrition as it is the basis of our health.

Dr Jane Taylor has over 30 years’ experience as a General Practitioner, more than 20 years of which have been in alternative/integrative medicine. She also spent fourteen years as a clinical tutor at the Australian National University Medical School.

Her main areas of interest are female hormonal issues from puberty through to menopause and auto-immune hormonal issues, such as Hashimoto’s Disease. Treatments include dietary nutritional intervention, if required combined with nutritional injectables. Focus is given to restoring gut health to positively affect your whole system.

Dr Jessica Elmasry has many interests in medicine such as women’s health, sexual and reproductive health including subfertility and postpartum care, mast cell activation syndrome, POTS, eating disorder and weight management, mental health, autoimmune, endocrine and skin conditions.

Both our GP’s are happy to work alongside your regular GP to consider the root causes of illness and chronic disease – considering nutrition, environmental exposures, gut microbiome dysfunction and psychosocial causes of illness and chronic disease.

CK Health is delighted to support both Dr Jane’s and Dr Jess’s services which are largely unique to the Newcastle area. You may expect your initial appointment to take an hour or more.

To ensure that you obtain maximum health benefit, where appropriate, a management plan of subsequent appointments will be offered.

All patients are given a comprehensive health questionnaire to complete and return prior to your first appointment. Initial appointments must be pre-paid.

Finding Balance

Dr Jane’s focus is auto-immune, nutrition and female hormones, she does not treat children suffering behavioural / learning issues.

Dr Jess has many interests in medicine such as women’s health, sexual and reproductive health including subfertility and postpartum care, mast cell activation syndrome, POTS, eating disorder and weight management, mental health, autoimmune, endocrine and skin conditions.

“Everything within us wants to be in balance. Health is about levelling the scales, and if we’re fortunate enough to find equilibrium in our body, mind, and spirit, I believe we can reach a deeper knowledge of the self and of our place in the world.”

Clinical Nutrition

Research shows that what we eat greatly impacts our health, and clinical nutrition utilises food to maintain optimal health and treat illness. Common conditions can often be alleviated with an improved diet, while dietary modifications can be the key to alleviating chronic health problems. Functional testing

Functional medicine is a way of assessing the body and its function so that imbalances can be corrected, and optimal health restored. Where mainstream medicine often focuses on managing a downstream health complication, a functional medicine approach will journey upstream to find where things have started to go amiss, and look to restore the body’s capabilities to heal itself.
