ADHD Adult Assessments
At CK Health, we understand the unique complexities that come with being an adult living with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Our evidence based ADHD adult assessments are designed to provide clarity, guidance, and tailored solutions for individuals seeking to manage their ADHD effectively.
What to expect during an adult ADHD assessment:
Session one- clinical interview.
Our psychologist will explore your concerns and history over a 1.5 hour appointment. This will help determine your suitability to be tested for ADHD. If you decide to proceed you will be sent away with 2 evidence based questionnaires to complete at home.
Sessions two and three – a cognitive assessment will be conducted either face to face or via telehealth with one of our psychologists. These are evidence based psychometric tools designed to assess you for ADHD. Each session will be 1 hour. Your Psychologist will then spend many hours analysing and interpreting your intake form and assessments results. They will formulate a written report and recommendations within 2 weeks of your third appointment.
Session four – during this session your psychologist will present you with a report of findings. It will include a tailored list of recommendations specific to your situation. These personalised suggestions will equip you with strategies and tools to optimise your daily functioning and wellbeing.
The initial appointment is $290. If after the preliminary appointment you would like to proceed the total cost is two payments of $747.50 ($1,495 in total). The initial appointment fee of $290 is included in this fee.
What am I paying for?
The fee covers the assessment consultation, the testing sessions, the test materials, the time taken to score, consult and write your reports. Then finally the delivery of your report and our recommendations.
Can I claim this on Medicare?
Unfortunately ADHD assessments are not currently covered by Medicare.
Formal diagnosis of ADHD
To have a formal diagnosis you need a multidisciplinary approach. This includes your GP, psychologist and/or a psychiatrist. Please note a GP referral isn’t needed to initiate an adult ADHD assessment. Your assessment at CK Heath will provide you with a report which identifies whether you meet the DSM5 criteria for adult ADHD. Patients can then take their report to a Psychiatrist who may confirm diagnosis and discuss medication where appropriate. Please note we can help you navigate your way through this part of the process.
